3000 Leagues in Search of Mother (母をたずねて三千里, Haha o Tazunete Sanzenri) is a Japanese anime series directed by Isao Takahata and produced by Nippon Animation. It is part of the World Masterpiece Theater series and originally aired in 1976. The story follows Marco, a young Italian boy, who embarks on a long journey across South America in search of his mother. This touching series is remembered for its emotional depth and strong storytelling.
